Eric Kind (formerly Eric King) is Managing Director of AWO, a B Corp data rights law firm and consultancy.
Eric is a legal and public policy expert in technology, society and human rights. Eric has led coalitions of charities successfully reforming national security legislation, and placing export controls on surveillance technology. He was Counsel to Luminate advising Reset, the philanthropic social enterprise, and Operations Director at the Institute for the Future of Work where he supported the establishment of the organisation. Prior to that he was the Deputy Director at Privacy International where he helped relaunch the organisation.
He has been a Visiting Lecturer at Queen Mary, University London where he taught on criminal justice and surveillance technologies. He holds an LLB from the London School of Economics, where he also occasionally teaches. He is currently undertaking an MBA at Imperial College London Business School.
He is on the board of Children's Discovery, the advisory council of the Foundation for Information Policy Research, the Open Rights Group and formerly a member of the Independent Digital Ethics Panel for Policing.
